A few years back I read a science fiction novel in which tobacco leaves had been genetically modified to be healthy and anti-carcinogenic. Well, you know how science fiction can act as a precursor to real life … Murray Clapham, businessman, former diplomat and a director of the Victor Chang Foundation has this to say in The Jakarta Post:

Cigarette smoking can, with specially treated cigarettes, significantly assist people’s health and has the potential to cut health costs around the globe.

One thing we must do is learn from the ancient wisdom and find out how to grow healthy tobacco

To conclude, let’s ban unhealthy cigarettes and promote healthy smoking.
